Olivia Price

Olivia started competing on the World Sailing Stage in 2008 at the age of 16. In 2011, at only 18, Olivia was skippering her own boat, preparing for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Having remained undefeated in the qualifying round robin stage of the Olympic competition, Olivia and team booked themselves a spot in the Olympic finals against Spain, ultimately taking home the Silver Medal. Olivia became the youngest female sailor ever to win an Olympic Medal.

From 2012, Olivia campaigned in the 49erFX Olympic Skiff Class, and in her first year achieved 3 podiums in the brand-new class. In early 2015, Olivia and her new crew achieved a Bronze Medal at the Palma Euro Cup. Unfortunately, in June 2015, one of her crew endured an ACL tear, tragically ending their preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

In 2018 Olivia competed in the high powered, extremely fast SuperFoiler Grand Prix circuit, being the only female in the league, against some of the world’s top America’s Cup and Olympic sailing medallists.

While taking a break from sailing in 2019-20 to concentrate on her University studies and career, Olivia was the Head Coach of Sailing at the Ascham School, coaching young female sailors both on and off the water, and has been a personal mentor to many youth sailors.

Public speaking has become a passion for Olivia, participating on various panels such as Channel 7’s Sunrise breakfast show, and commentating the Rolex Sydney Hobart finish and SailGP events around the world.
