Evie Haseldine

Evie Haseldine is an 18-year-old Australian sailor who has dreamt of competing in an Olympic Games ever since she started sailing. At the age of 14, Evie competed at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires in 2018.

During 2018, Evie competed internationally at five events including the World Sailing Youth Championships and the Nacra 15 Open World Championships, achieving second in the Under 16s category at the Open Worlds, while placing 16th overall in the world rankings.

In 2019, aged 15, Evie came 2nd in the female division at the Australian Youth Nationals crewing in the 29er class, placing third overall. Evie also became the first youth at the Oceania National Sailing League Championships, before returning to the Nacra 15 placing second at both the NSW Youth Championships and Sail Sydney regattas.

Off the water and while still attending high school full time, Evie was honoured to be chosen to speak about her experiences and incredible successes at the Australian Olympic Committee AGM in 2019.

In her HSC year in 2020, Evie continued to race at an elite level and was selected as one of four Australian Women under 21 to compete in the SailGP Waszp Inspire Program. She also skippered the Nacra 15 to a second place at the NSW State Championships.

Evie is currently in the Sydney University Elite Athlete Program, in her second year of studying a B Media and Communications.
